As Chief instructor of the New York Aikikai, Yamada Shihan is the President of the United States Aikido Federation and is a direct student of the founder of Aikido, O’ Sensei.

Hanan Yaniv Shihan from Australia Aikikai was welcomed as our guest sensei in 2010 at the Sugano Shihan Memorial Summer Camp in Santa Barbara. He was the otomo of Sugano Sensei.
Chief instructor Peter Bernath is a Shichidan (7th degree black belt) and Shihan (master teacher) awarded by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, and a member of the Technical Committee of the USAF.
Sensei Donovan Waite is the Chief Instructor of Old City Aikido, Philadelphia, PA and is one of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan top students. His powerful, precise and yet nimble techniques are truly unique.
Jikou Sugano is the invited guest sensei for the 8th Annual Sugano Shihan Summer Camp. We are delighted to have him join us this year to commemorate his father’s legacy – Sugano Seichii Shihan.
