Aikido is for men and woman of all ages, body types, and physical conditions. Anyone can practice the art of Aikido.

Why learn Aikido at the Shin Do Kan Dojo?

Our dojo is very traditional and we are associated with the United States Aikido Federation (USAF) and the world headquarters of Aikido in Japan. We practice Aikikai style, which is the original style of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.

Our class schedule is sure to fit everyone’s busy schedule. We have morning, lunch, evening and weekend classes (13 times per week). There is no limit to the number of days or hours you can practice each month, and some people practice twice a day.

A typical student attends 3 classes per week which works out to be about $10.00 per class.

Our training includes weapons training twice a week. Sensei Pennewaert studied weapons for more than 20 years under Sugano Shihan, a master of weapons.

The benefits of aikido training practice are many. Practitioners develop flexibility, coordination, increased range of motion, good posture and better physical condition. Each student will train at a level appropriate for his or her experience. Both the execution of technique and the receiving of technique is practiced to fully develop the student’s abilities.
