Newport Beach Aikikai Announces 2026 Sugano Shihan Summer Camp

A special weekend of traditional aikido training, connection, and remembrance at Newport Beach Aikikai –  hosting the annual Sugano Shihan Summer Camp on June 6–7, 2026.

Dedicated to honoring the legacy of the late Sugano Seichi Shihan, this two-day seminar will bring together aikido practitioners of all levels for intensive training, community fellowship, and technical development under the instruction of Gentil Pennewaert.

Students ranging from beginners to advanced yudansha are encouraged to attend this unique annual event designed to deepen understanding of aikido principles, refine technique, and strengthen the aikido community spirit.

Participants will experience multiple training sessions led by Shihan and Shidoin instructors, yudansha testing, and a Saturday evening potluck gathering with fellow practitioners.
