Mind-Body Wellness for Groups
Join Newport Beach Aikido with group sessions for companies looking to incorporate a mind-body wellness program for their employees
As more stress from the workplace rises, companies are looking to help their employees find work-life balance. Practicing aikido is an excellent way to relieve stress, stay calm and build positive relationships in the workplace.
Team Building Program
In recent years, Newport Beach Aikido has worked with several business leaders, companies, and organizations to develop a fun team building program for their staff.Aikido has been practiced and used in many leadership coaching programs. The concepts of leadership parallel the concepts of aikido. Blending concepts are practiced in aikido which allow a practitioner to work closely with his/her partner to foster a positive harmonious resolution to work/life conflicts.
Other concepts such as grounding, centering, and staying relaxed are essential in practicing aikido. During the group sessions, Gentil Pennewaert Shihan provides group exercises where participants are performing light activities with a partner and learning how to feel, absorb, and redirect the partner’s energy.

Testimonials
G. Pennewaert Shihan, is a 6th-degree black belt who holds true commitment to transmitting the teachings of Sugano sensei with transparency and within the boundaries of a legitimate traditional Aikido dojo. His kindness and generous personality makes him a very good teacher who is always timely and honest at the time of passing on the teachings of the art to both experienced and beginners alike. Needless to say, I highly recommend it irrespective of your rank/level of knowledge. I have been fortunate to have found this USAF-affiliated dojo and now form part of the NBA family.
It is difficult to find a good dojo. It took me a very long time. A good dojo should have a certain spirit that is crafted by an exceptional sensei. The spirit at this dojo is one of disciplined practice, genuine camaraderie, and sincere, yet critical, guidance. There is a very strong familial feeling in this dojo; it is common for the Aikido practitioners to have their children practice alongside them. This includes the sensei’s own family. One thing that stands out is the quality of the people and their relationships that make this dojo great. Sensei Pennewaert stands at the door before every class greeting everyone with relaxed alertness, and students stay after class helping each other prepare for the promotion tests. In regards to the level of instruction, it is incomparable.
